Xi Graphics Inc., a privately held firm that specializes in premium
graphics support software for Linux and UNIX systems, announced recently
the release of version 6 of its line of Accelerated-X Display Servers(TM)
for laptop, desktop and multi-head use. The newest version of
Accelerated-X continues to offer the high performance and stability which
have come to be associated with the Xi Graphics' name, the company
said. In addition, version 6 offers numerous new features developed in
direct response to customer requests.
Some of the new features now available in Accelerated-X Display Server
version 6 include:
- XiG X Full Screen Extension (XiG-XFS) support for VMWare
- Preliminary USB support for Linux and Solaris 8
- Digital Flat Panels (DFP) support
- Dual View support for cards such as the Matrox G400 and Appian Duet
- Touchscreen support and TSC calibration support via the tscal program
- A totally new, dynamically loadable, I/O subsystem.
- LBX and XKB extension support
Accelerated-X Servers come in three configurations: desktop, laptop and
multi-head. The cost of Accelerated-X v6 is $99.95, $149.95 and $199.95,
plus shipping, for desktop, laptop and multi-head, respectively. For
customers supplying the serial number of an Accelerated-X v5 server, the
upgrade to v6 is half the product price. International pricing is slightly
higher.
